Daniel Haston was a simple early American pioneer whose life produced an extensive legacy, through the many thousands of people who have descended from him.

Daniel was born in about 1750, probably in what is now Page County, VA.  His father, Heinrich Hiestand, was a Swiss-German Mennonite who emigrated to Pennsylvania from Ibersheim, Germany in about 1727.
